Aperçu
Rapidly growing amounts of data and networks, artificial intelligence or the “Internet of Things”: The economy and society are currently undergoing fundamental change. More and more entrepreneurial issues require solutions that make computer scientists coveted employees across all industries.
Graduates of the bachelor’s degree in computer science have the technological know-how to develop new IT systems and processes. In the course of study at the FOM University, you will acquire basic specialist knowledge of modern system and computer architectures as well as the management of complex databases. In addition, the first semesters focus on “coding” – i.e. independent programming.
In a practical project spanning several semesters, you will design, implement and test a software system for a realistic application context. This gives you an insight into industrial projects in the field of information technology, where you can apply the knowledge you have acquired in the areas of big data, industry 4.0 or cloud computing in a practical way.
In the later semesters, you will gain an overview of current trends and innovations in the IT sector, for example in mobile applications or fundamental considerations on the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Topics such as information security and data protection complete the course and offer you the prerequisites for a wide range of possible fields of employment, for example as a computer scientist in the field of software development, IT system analysis or IT security.
