Aperçu
Medicinal Chemistry – interdisciplinary area of studies and scientific research, which involves chemistry, biology, pharmacy and other sciences for creation and development of new medicines. The scope of the programme is preparation of qualified, motivated and creative specialists, who have deep knowledge of chemistry and research skills, are able to formulate and solve the issues of medicinal chemistry science and pharmaceutical industry, seeking to work at the high tech scientific and industrial companies, which produce and supply pharmaceutical preparations, or to continue their education in doctoral studies.

Student’s competences:
development of pharmaceutical preparations and technologies;
understanding and application of the principles of instrumental analysis;
planning and performance of scientific research and experiments in the area of medical chemistry.
Student’s skills:
able to formulate a research hypothesis, objective, problem, tasks, to select the appropriate methods for implementation of the tasks, to analyse and summarise the obtained research results, to formulate conclusions and to plan further research;
able to identify types of interaction between biological molecules–targets and medicines;
able to conduct metabolic analysis of medicinal substances according to the compounds chemical structure;
able to apply principles of good laboratory practice and present his/her work results orally and in writing.
