Aperçu
The programme focuses on the acquisition of professional knowledge and practical skills in the technical and scientific fields on which modern robotics is based: embedded electronics, intelligent systems, programming and mechanics. The training courses of the first three scientific and technical areas provide students with the knowledge of automatic control theory, microcontroller programming, industrial and intelligent robotics, autonomous robot embedded systems, autonomous robot action planning, industrial robot programming and artificial intelligence techniques. The mechanics courses provide students with the knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of autonomous and industrial robots, of the robot structures and the principles of designing autonomous robots. During the course, alongside theoretical knowledge, students gain practical experience in using industrial robots Kawasaki, Kuka, ABB and Universal Robots. Humanoid robots NAO, mobile robots Khepera IV and Koala are used to learn the principles of autonomous robotics. Before preparing a graduation project, students undergo compulsory industrial practice in specialised companies that provide industrial production robotisation and are engaged in the development of industrial and autonomous robots as well as robotic devices both in Latvia and EU countries.
